Tape Wand V1

A tape player that replaces the tape transport system with you, in a handheld portable device.

Enables play and exploration with tape and magnetic audio in general, listening to both tracks of cassettes simultaneously, creating “tape sheets” of various found or generated recordings, listening to the data on magstripe cards, other things you may think of that I havent yet etc.

This version was built for Public Tape Tools, a new and old way to publicly share sound, using self adhesive audio tape stickers. Recorder available soon.

This is not a high fidelity audio player, play back speed can vary significantly depending how steady your hands are. This is a tool for creative exploration, not a replacement for your tape deck.
